What is PCtesti?
PCtesti is a collection of browser-based tools for checking keyboards, mice, microphones, webcams, displays, gamepads, internet connections, browser performance and several common computer problems.
Is PCtesti free?
Yes. The main online testing tools on PCtesti can be used free of charge and most do not require an account.
Do I need to install a program?
No. PCtesti is designed around browser-based testing. Supported tests run directly inside modern browsers such as Chrome, Edge and Firefox.
Can PCtesti access the files on my computer?
No. Standard PCtesti browser tests cannot browse through your personal files or folders. Websites only receive file access when the user explicitly selects a file through a browser feature designed for that purpose.
Does the keyboard test record what I type?
The keyboard test checks which physical key events are detected by the browser. It is not designed to operate as a keylogger and the content of your keystrokes is not uploaded as a typing record for the test.
Does the microphone test record my voice?
The microphone stream is analyzed in the browser to measure features such as signal level and noise. PCtesti does not need to create and upload a voice recording simply to perform the microphone test. The media stream is stopped when the test ends.
Does the webcam test save my video?
The webcam test displays the camera stream in your browser so that you can verify whether the camera is working. The test is not intended to record and store your webcam video on the PCtesti server.
Why does my browser ask for microphone or camera permission?
Modern browsers require explicit permission before a website can access sensitive devices such as microphones and cameras. The permission is necessary for the related device test to work.
Are PCtesti results a guaranteed hardware diagnosis?
No. Online tests can identify many symptoms and provide useful troubleshooting information, but they cannot replace every hardware diagnostic tool or professional inspection. Results should be treated as an initial diagnostic guide.
Can PCtesti measure CPU temperature?
No. Standard web browsers do not provide websites with direct access to CPU temperature sensors. PCtesti therefore does not claim to measure the real CPU temperature through a normal browser test.
Can PCtesti read GPU temperature or VRAM usage?
Browsers may expose limited graphics information through technologies such as WebGL, but they do not normally provide direct access to GPU temperature, real-time VRAM usage or complete graphics driver information.
Can PCtesti check SSD or hard drive health?
A browser cannot directly read the S.M.A.R.T. health information of your storage drives. Dedicated operating-system software is required for a complete SSD or hard drive health check.
What does PC Health Scan check?
PC Health Scan evaluates information that can be measured from the browser, such as network behavior, JavaScript computation, frame flow, WebGL capability and selected browser security features. It does not pretend to scan Windows system files, antivirus status or physical disk health.
Is the Browser Benchmark the same as a full PC benchmark?
No. The PCtesti Browser Benchmark measures browser workloads such as JavaScript, DOM, Canvas and WebGL performance. Browser version, background applications, power settings and operating system conditions can influence the result.
How does the “Can I Run This Game?” test work?
The game test compares browser-visible information such as approximate memory, logical CPU cores, WebGL renderer data and browser performance with the saved system requirements of the selected game.
Does the game test measure real FPS?
No. The browser is not running the actual game, so PCtesti cannot measure your real in-game FPS. The result is an estimated compatibility assessment based on available device information and system requirements.
Why can’t PCtesti always detect my exact CPU model?
Modern browsers deliberately limit hardware details for privacy and security reasons. They may provide information such as the number of logical processor cores without exposing the exact CPU model.
Where is my recent test history stored?
Part of your recent test history can be stored locally in your browser using localStorage. Clearing your browser data may also remove this locally stored history.
Can I see my test history on another computer?
Locally stored browser history does not automatically follow you to another device. A separate account-based synchronization feature would be required for cross-device history.
What should I do if a test result looks wrong?
Run the test again, close unnecessary applications and tabs, confirm that the correct device is selected and compare the result in another supported browser if possible. If the problem continues, use the related diagnostic tool for additional checks.
Can I use PCtesti on a phone or tablet?
Many PCtesti tools can work on mobile devices, but available features depend on the operating system, browser and device APIs. Some desktop-focused tests may not be relevant or supported on mobile devices.
Why does a test say that my browser does not support a feature?
Some browser APIs such as Web Bluetooth, WebUSB or the Battery Status API are not available in every browser. Lack of API support does not mean that the hardware itself is faulty.
Does PCtesti replace a repair technician?
No. PCtesti helps with initial testing and troubleshooting. Physical damage, liquid exposure, repeated blue screens, storage failure or serious hardware faults may require professional inspection.
